Bless you, Star Trek movies, for changing “where no man has gone before” to “where no one has gone before”

I actually, them doing this was my only problem with the movie. :/

(And I am a lady, before you start shouting sexism)

Just…

I feel you, especially since they had such gratuitous sexualization and marginalization of the few women in the movie. However, I still do appreciate the change, but the fact that you don’t like it is, of course, totally valid.

Thank you for accepting my opinion, as I accept yours. :D

SO GOOD!!! i was not expecting it to be as emotional as it was... and i'm all about character development so, yes, it was perfection. (i'm in a post-movie haze still... *sigh*)

Haha! Me too! We just got back, like, an hour ago and I’m still like “Ahhhhh…” happy sigh.

Just curious, why did you not like it? Just because you’re a purist?

That and I thought it was unnecessary. I didn’t feel “included” or “equal” when they said “no one” instead of “no man”. We all freaking know when they said man they mean mankind as in the human race. All I got was Hollywood going “Look at how equal we’re being! Look! YOU’RE NOT LOOKING. LOOK AT US NOT BEING SEXIST.” but they are.

those of you who’ve seen Star Trek…

Still thinking about Star Trek: Into Darkness’s casting choices and the implications behind it all, and how it could have potentially been even worse. (Spoilers below.)
